There was an image I used in a blog post a while back that captured my….well, I’m not sure what it captured.
It made me stop…and just look at it. It is deep, while being playful and fun. It captures something deep within–and yet, I have no idea what it is. I cannot put to words what happens when I see the image. It struck me so deeply, it is the desktop picture on my computer. And yet…I cannot explain why.
There is a song by OneRepublic called “Stop and Stare”, whose refrain stills all the swirl around…
“Stop and stare/ I think I’m movin’ but I go nowhere
Yeah, I know that everyone gets scared
But I’ve become what I can’t be”
Something about the image on my desktop,
something speaks to the glory, the mystery,
and the quiet stillness of the Father.
The joy He has
and for me.
So I stop and stare.
And I wonder if that is what He wanted all along.
