Reflection: The foolish one is trapped by snares and nets, but the wise is not. There are snares and nets all around, whether we recognize them or not. We would be wise to recognize them.
Application: Snares typically trap when we are either not paying attention, or they hit in an area of weakness. Being on guard means being aware, not only of your physical and spiritual surroundings, but your physical and spiritual weaknesses as well. Are you lonely? Afraid? Rebellious? Prideful? Weak? Those are possible targets. Do you blindly walk through your day? To do so makes a wide target.
Prayer: God, show us our weak spots. Buttress us with Your wisdom, which You give freely to all who ask in belief. God, show us You way that we may walk in it and thereby avoid the traps. Amen. And amen.
