He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like foliage.” –verse 28, NKJV
Green leaves on the forest floor have no concern for the birds flying overhead. They consider not the issues of clear-cutting or human impacts. Tiny green leaves leave pontification of global warming to others. They simply live the life that is before them.
If there is sun, they may close their stomata to keep the moisture in their leaves. In times of humidity, those same stomata may have a different experience. Rain beats down and the leaves take the pounding–for some leaves may be damaged, but the stress will strengthen the plant. The leaves worry not about the bugs chewing on leaves. They deal with it.
Foliage deals with what is before it. No more, no less.
The righteous will flourish like foliage…
Maybe I should do a little less fretting and a little more living the day that is in front of me. Some days will require planning. And some days may even require pontification on global warming. But not today.
Today, the work before me is what it is. If the sun comes, I photosynthesize. If the rains come, I relish the opportunity to strengthen my core.
And I will flourish…what about you?
