“Be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day.” –verse 17b
We must be careful in where we place our zealousness. Proverbs gives us the portion. Not for the law, not for being “right.” We must be zealous for the fear of the Lord.
Scratch that: *I* must be zealous for the fear of the Lord. For in that fear, I will be humbled before Him. In that fear, I will seek his face, His guidance, his direction. I may not know what is “right”, but I will know His heart, His will, His face. His Spirit will guide. His Son will provide. And He will be the joy of my heart and the twinkle in my eye.
Yes, my zealousness must be appropriately placed. And by placing it in God first and in primary importance, He will show me where my zealousness must then focus.
