“She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.” –verse 20
Helping others. Two actions–noticing, and reaching. Beyond your thoughts, into your satchel, out into the life of another. Seeking the face of God, that you may see what He sees. That you may see Him in every being–for all are created in His image. All. Are. Created. In. His. Image.
Will you see Him? Will you feed Him? Will you reach out and touch Him
“for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’” –Matthew 25:35-36, NKJV
When we understand our overflowing state of blessedness, looking beyond to touch another becomes second-nature. Pouring out from the overflow bespeaks a Jesus intimately familiar with another’s struggle–and longing to touch that person through His people.
Show off Jesus. Show His compassion. Start with gratitude, end with giving. For your riches in heaven are great. Give them away in this life.
