“As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.” -verse 15
The psalmist begs for vindication and ends with satisfaction, not because vindication came by the time verse 15 rolled around.
The psalmist’s peace emerges as he trusts that the God who sees all hearts, including his, delivers. The psalmist believes that God will judge righteously and willingly gives his own heart for judgment as well.
Humility comes when we realize that we, too, sin wretchedly. We do not give up the cry for vindication–we simply make the cry to the only One who can perform it in perfect righteousness.
Bring your cry for vindication to the Lord. Let Him determine what comes next.
