Psalm 8: More Than

Psalm 8

“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained,what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?” –verses 3-4

The universe is mighty
in depth, breadth, complexity, and even simplicity.

Innumerable processes to keep this world going,
all that we might live…
not just on a wedge of dirt,
but in spectacular glory of His Creation.

His love,
not just for our soul that we may live eternally with Him;
not just for our bodies that we might be clothed and fed;
but to the details.

Nature need not be so beautiful,
food need not be so tasty,
emotions need not be so strong,
friendships need not be so supportive,
but they are.

Because God loves us.
He longs, not just for our salvation,
but for our recognizing the graces given us
that life may be abundant in the living.

“…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” –John 10:10
