These short few verses highlight something critical to the psalmist’s experience: His complete reliance on God.

Whether seeking vengeance against his enemies or proclaiming gratitude for deliverance and provision, the psalmist knew God was the source of all. God does give and take away, and the psalmist relies on that truth as he tries to understand the world around him.  The psalmist knows his humble state. He makes himself neither bigger nor smaller than God makes him. And he goes to the Source of life for everything.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” –Proverbs 9:10, NKJV

Make God the center of your experience.
