Psalm 87: The gates of Zion…

“The Lord loves the gates of Zion…”

Zion, used to describe the promised, redeemed, city, paints a picture of wholeness, light, love, and our race on this earth being completed. Zion is the end, the finish, the place where we see Jesus face-to-face.

“The Lord loves the gates of Zion…”

He always has loved a good redemption story. The prodigal son. The lost coin. The lost sheep. Jesus. Peter returning. John’s life of faith fulfilled. Paul. The centurion…….

“The Lord loves the gates of Zion…”

Whatever your past, your mistakes, your regrets, your failures, your self-assumed wretchedness, remember this: God loves a good redemption story. He loves the gates of Zion–for there the people are complete.

He loves the gates of Zion, for there He gets to welcome you back, slaughter the fatted calf, and throw a party in celebration of your return.

“The Lord loves the gates of Zion…”

Lay down your burden and meet Him there.
