Psalm 90: For Who He really is…
The psalms are filled with praise. Exalting God–His holiness, His righteousness, His deliverance, His judgments. he is Creator, Redeemer, Almighty God, and Friend. Yet, sometimes I tread so heavily into His chamber. I bound in like I own the place, forgetting all He is and my own small mortality.
“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” –verse 12
Wisdom requires an understanding of who is whom in this relationship. Though the King receives my prayers and hears my requests, He is the King. Though I am welcome before the Throne, I am the servant, the serf, the one of limited human understanding.
He is great and merciful and just. He seeks relationships with me. I must honor Who He really is and not forget to Whom I am relating.
