Psalm 91: The God of so much…
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.” –verses 14-16
I always appreciate when scripture gives a delineation of responsibilities. As a natural do-er, I tend to keep doing and doing and doing, attempting to make things right through my own actions. But Jesus gives a different perspective–thank You, Jesus, that You give a different perspective.
The duties that are mine, according to these verses, are to set my love on Christ, know His name, and call upon Him. That’s it.
I need not worry about deliverance, for that is His. I need not plot how to get to higher ground, for that is His. I need not fret of being alone in trouble, for He will be there. I need not feel discontent, for He will give satisfaction. I need not plan for salvation, for that is His gift.
Praise God He does so much. May we focus on doing our lithe, trusting Him for the rest.
