“You who love the Lord, hate evil…” –verse 10
I am late with this post. Two days late, to be specific. But God’s provision of time is always on time. On the day after a major election, there are hopes and disappointments and struggles and attempts to understand.
Elections seem to bring out sides of people that we may not always see. The usually out-spoken choose silence. The typically quiet express their opinions with great vehemence. And throughout social media, name calling and hatred abound.
We are called to love. We are called to honor our leaders. We are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
We are called. We are called to hate evil. Dishonor, disrespect, and hatred toward another is not what God has called. Let us all focus on the one Kings whose faithfulness will build our lives regardless of human leadership. That King calls us to respect and pray for our authorities–let’s obey Him together.
