Psalm 134: Insomniacs club…
Who stands in the sanctuary through the night? The night, when ambient noise calms in rest, when the running of the fridge overpowers any other noise. In the quiet, fears revealed, anxieties uncovered in the bare silence of darkness.
This too is a sanctuary. For God desires not our anxious thoughts, but a life of trust in Him. When the thoughts race and the mind cannot seem to quiet for rest, it is here that the Lord may be blessed in your humiliation. He longs that you let go of those anxieties. He longs that in the wee hours of the morning, when sleep seems far away and insomnia your consistent companion, make this your sanctuary. You’re awake anyway; enter the sanctuary.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” –Matthew 11:28, NKJV
