Chronological Bible: January 21, Along the desert path…
- Exodus 12:37-15:27
“Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, ‘Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.’ So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea…” –Exodus 13:17-18, NKJV
The Lord knows your heart. As He knew the hearts of the Israelites, and the potential for them to turn back if they saw the war of the Philistines, He knows the fears in your heart. And He knows how to get you where you need to go, be it by land, by sea, or by wilderness. Though you should lay your fear aside that you may better enjoy the ride trusting Him, He will work despite your fear.
The circuitous route which seems to take longer may be the very route necessary to fulfill God’s plan for your life. Worry not about the route, seek instead the One leading you and He will get you there.
