- Numbers 7:1-8:26
Leadership remains one of the most misunderstood concepts. Many want to lead, even believe they are leading despite having no followers. Some desire leadership positions to be recognized or wield power, or in the worst cases to demand the service of others.
The picture shown in Numbers shatters those impressions. In a people that sacrificed for sins, for uncleanness, for atonement and everything else, the leaders had to sacrifice more. From the storehouse, from the field, from their own reserves, the leaders offered abundantly more to the Lord than the rest of the people.
Before you seek leadership, ask yourself if you are willing to do more, spend more, give more than everyone else. Are you willing to set all you have before the Lord, far and above more than anyone else around you? That is the cost.
