- Numbers 34:1-36:13
Chapters 34 and 35 fascinate me. Intrigued by the embedded nature of the morality of God, how His fingerprint is on each of our hearts, we read in these chapters laws that mostly stand to this day. Though we may not have cities of refuge, we do have differing degrees of punishment when someone is killed. Just as the Lord lays out in these chapters, we also adjudicate differently whether a killer lies in wait or kills accidentally. We delineate the difference between harboring enmity toward another and killing accidentally.
The faithfulness of God shows that His fingerprint already dwells in our consciences. To deny His creative force in our very being is to deny the foundation for the potential in every human. Big or small, saved or unsaved, God created us all.
Prayerfully consider how you can apply this understanding to your interactions with others?
