“You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf…” –2 Chronicles 20:17, ESV
The call of the Lord can be difficult to follow. As I write this, I struggle against my own desire to speak into a situation and God’s abundantly-clear direction for me to remain silent. I think over an dover about how I could phrase something, but the directive is clear: remain silent. Oh, the temporal satisfaction of saying the thing…but if reading the Old Testament these past days has shown anything, it is that the hard-headed approach to ignoring God’s direction is never a good idea. Never.
So I sit. I struggle, not with the situation, but with my own will. It can be hard to let God do His thing, especially when you don’t know how He will work. But He is bigger than me. He knows more than me.
In what situation do you need to stand firm and let God battle for you?
