Chronological Bible: June 13, Something poetic…
- Isaiah 14:24-32
- 2 Kings 16:10-20
- Micah 1:1-2:13
As the Lord cries for repentance, proclaiming coming judgment to warn His people, Micah uses poetry to communicate the message. Poetry, used to portray emotion, used so commonly to woo the heart of one the speaker desires. It seems paradoxical at first, that God would cry out judgment in the form of poetry. Yet, it is a beautiful testimony of how God longs to bring His people back to Him. He woos them with language in a form they will recognize. He woos them with poetry.
In what ways is God wooing you back to Him? What communications is He using, communications that speak to your heart in a way unique to you? Pause and listen. Hear His heart amid the words.
