- Amos 6:8-9:15
“‘Behold, the days are coming,’ declares the Lord God, ‘when I will send a famine on the land—not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.'” –Amos 8:11, ESV
Oh Lord, may it never be so with me. Jacob’s pride disgraced You. The pride that would not bend. Lord, make me flexible, pliable, and so incredibly humbled to You that a simple breath would blow me the way you would want me to go. May I never lose Your word, for what else is there that makes sense of this world? What else speaks truth and love in this world? What else transcends this worldly experience to show us something so much better than anything our minds can grasp. Dear Jesus, break my will before You ever need take Your word from me.
