“And as he spoke to me, the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.” –Ezekiel 2:2, ESV
When Ezekiel saw the presence of the Lord, he fell on his face. Flat down in the midst of whatever he was doing, Ezekiel worshipped the Lord from prostrate position. But the Lord wanted to speak with him. I cannot imagine the experience of the Spirit taking him from flat-out to standing.
“…the Spirit…set me on my feet…”
Created to glorify God, sometimes the Spirit needs us to get up to receive a word. Like Ezekiel, the Lord has much to say to us. Like Ezekiel, purpose infuses our days and we would be wise to learn that purpose. The Lord has much to say to you; allow the Spirit to pick you up so the Lord can look you in the eye. Stop ducking your head. Lift your eyes, feel His touch, and hear Him whisper as He speaks His word to you.
Let the Spirit set you on your feet.
