“How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land?” –Psalm 137:4, ESV
One of the most difficult things to do in a land where you don’t want to be is to sing praise. You might find the strength to silently whisper thanks to God for His provision. Singing it out, putting it out in the world in which you struggle is a whole different thing. But you must. For in putting the words out there, you have committed to them. In stating aloud the power and providence of God, your ears hear the message another time. And in putting the truth out for others to hear, you may just make a positive dent in that world you so despise right now.
So speak it out. Put your internal words to external reality and see how God transforms your heart and circumstance.
