- 2 Chronicles 36:22-23
- Proverbs 22:17-24:34
“My son, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” –Proverbs 24:13-14, ESV
In a list of proverbs warning us to stay away from a man plotting folly, this reminder provides images for the benefit of wisdom. Wisdom does not always present itself like decorations on a cake. Sometimes it is the ingredient indistinguishably mixed that deepens flavor. Living a life of wisdom rarely comes with the flash and sparkle the world says is valuable. But taking it is deep, relishing its sweet refreshment will sustain you far longer than anything the world can offer.
