Chronological Bible: October 11, Deciding factors…
- John 1:1-18
- Luke 1:1-80
- Matthew 1:1-17
“He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him. But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” –John 1:11-13, ESV
Ultimately, life is about you and Jesus. You can decide to believe He is Who He says He is and follow Him. Or you can decide to disregard everything about Him. But there is no middle ground. The beauty of this reality is that nobody else’s opinion matters. It is not your neighbor or co-worker or boss that determines where you stand with Jesus. You may face hatred every day or you may be popular and loved by all you meet. But none of them matter in deciding whether you are a child of God. The responsibility falls on you alone. That can be heavy, but if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, your burden lifts for the God of all creation, who came as flesh to the earth, gives you a different burden, a light burden. And He carries the other end for you.
Do not weigh your worth by what others say or do. Look alone to Jesus and decide for yourself where you want to stand.
