Chronological Bible: November 26, How deep the truth…
- Acts 13:1-14:28
“When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” –Acts 14:21-22, ESV
Paul had been stoned and believed to be dead. The disciples came around him and he raised up to continue preaching. In his recently battered state, he encouraged new disciples and showing that many tribulations would come in entering the kingdom of God. Do you believe in the truth so much that such an event creates opportunity for you to continue preaching the Word? How deep does the truth invade your heart? Your life?
Jesus is the real deal. He will not disappoint. He is mighty to bring you freedom from that which binds your life. Mere belief can be shallow. The truth must be deep to endure what Paul faced and keep going. Commit to knowing and loving the truth to that degree.
