“And Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven.'” –Matthew 19:23, ESV
On what do you rely? The earthly comforts that come with being able to provide for yourself can fog up one’s ability to see clearly the heavenly realities of that which is spiritually significant. The riches aren’t the thing. Whether that comes with money or a healthy family or a good job, “riches” in this world can stand in the way of Jesus. He doesn’t frown on these things, particularly. He wants us to have every good and perfect thing. He just recognizes how distracted we can be with those things.
It’s all about priorities. What is priority in your life? And does that thing stand in the way of Jesus or usher you into His presence?
