It wasn’t one decision that Jesus made to be our Redeemer. In the human body, He made decision after decision that ushered in the time for His crucifixion. He knew what He did would make the religious leaders furious. He knew. And He decided to do it anyway. So many times the religious leaders criticized Him for healing on the Sabbath; yet Jesus chose to do it anyway. He could have waited a day; He could have come a day early, done the healing, and avoided the controversy. But He chose to follow the timeline necessary to usher in His purpose.
And when He tells the disciples to go get the colt on which He was to ride, He chose again to fulfill the prophecies from long ago. Jesus’ life was not the result of one decision. Our redemption came not of one decision, but because He chose at every opportunity to follow the will of the Father. Each decision marched Him closer to the cross, and closer to our salvation.
He chose, not once, but time and time again to be faithful to the Father’s will. Will you do the same?
