• Acts 21:17-24:27

Paul’s adventures landed him in prison more often than either you or I would ever like. He spoke respectfully, he built common understandings, and was liked by Felix. But even the great orator lived in prison. For Felix wanted a bribe, and then wanted to please the people. Paul’s stint in prison seemed to have very little to do with Paul at all. The same is true for our lives. Sometimes we step in a mess on our own, or even create it. But so many times we find ourselves in a mess having everything to do with everyone but us…yet we find ourselves in prison. Despite that, the will of God goes forth. He redeems whatever situation we are in to His glory and our edification. So rather than contemplating the unfairness of unfounded imprisonment, ponder instead how God’s might will be proclaimed.
